Subject: USS Nautilus
Poor sound quality mars this newsreel depicting President Eisenhower decorating Captain Anderson with the Legion of Merit for commanding the USS Nautilus in her voyage from Pearl Harbor, under the North Pole, and on to Europe. Includes shots of Nautilus at sea, crewmen chowing down and playing games.

Subject: New Ways to Cheat at Solitaire Discovered on Atomic Sub!
Newsreel clip documenting maiden voyage of the atomic submarine Nautilus. Unfortunately, there are no Ă‚encounters with mythical sea creatures a la Jules Verne.Ă‚ Instead, we get to watch sailors playing solitaire. Boy, those nuclear subs were exciting!
